This is the 6th year of creating planners for more than just me. And I’m still making them in my own craft room in my own home, though I do call it my “Planner Studio” or “Studio” for short to sound fancy.
Yes, I could design the planners and send them to a printer and make a lot more planners and a lot more money, but those just aren’t the kind of planners I like to make. There is nothing wrong with a spiral bound planner, lots of people use them and love them, but there’s already a million of those out there.
I make the kind of planner that I want to use. What I want in a planner:
- Places are replaceable. Sometimes I mess up or make changes, so I can replace whatever anytime.
- I can add pages, like more note paper, grocery lists, or daily planning pages.
- I can move things, changing up what’s in each section to fit my life in each changing phase.
My favorite kind of planner use discbound rings, like the ones above. The papers can pop right in and out of it!
When you get used to the better way of planning, it is hard to go back. This is why I actually have started recognizing the names on the planner page orders as they come through! I can actually start to recognize names because every planner and every order is put together by ME. It really is a labor of love.
And seriously, I say this every year, because I mean it: this year’s planner is the best one yet. That’s because every year I figure more out, tweak it and create an even better planner.
Here’s a tour of this year’s planner:
