So …. my first video is terrible. I mean, terrible. For some odd reason, Facebook kept popping up with “poor connection” and so the video skips in odd little places. But, it still manages to give you a tour of my laundry room if you want to see it.
See the video on Facebook now.
Why am I sharing this terrible video?
Even though I think my first video is terrible, I’m still going to share this with you. When I re-named my blog Creating Mary’s Home (from Mary ORGANIZES), I decided to let myself be seen in all of my miserable flaws.
How can I inspire anyone to love their home & life while I’m hiding myself? I still have a lot of good tips and thought to share, and I don’t have to be perfect to help you.
For-Real, behind the scenes facts I can’t hide:
- Yes, I’ve gained 60 pounds since September while I have been working through some serious health issues.
- Yes, I’ve given up on week-day makeup because in Texas, heat and constant sweating make it impossible for make-up to stay on my face. No makeup looks better than streaks of foundation and eye makeup. (I still wear makeup for church and date nights – that is all.)
- My kids do not behave perfectly in the background while I get magical work done. In fact, if I attempt to ignore them, things go all-out crazy. So, during the summer, I work near them and I definitely don’t get as much done.
- While I’ve been dealing with TWO HOUSE FLOODS AND MAJOR REPAIR WORK and my health issues, I’ve not done as much to my house as I’ve wanted. Nothing is completely done and I’ve been embarrassed to show my house while it’s in-process. I’m surrendering my pride, and I’m just going to show you like it is!
I really hope that my videos keep improving. I think the only way to learn how to create awesome videos (like I want to do) is to start somewhere. This is my start.
I’d say “Tell Me What You Think,”Β but I’m not sure I want to know. π
From my home to yours,
Mary

I loved your video! I’m not on Facebook, but was still able to watch it – just not like or comment π
My husband works from home and is always on a conference call too! The kids are awesome! I love how you are keeping it real and look forward to more videos! Thanks for all of the effort you put into your posts too.

Sending Love to you Mary. You are one of only a few I follow on Facebook. Your posts and videos demonstrate your natural talent for organizing and a sincere desire to make your home a beautiful haven for your family. You also value being a great wife and mother, and I enjoy seeing how you balance learning, growing, and responsibility while making it fun for your kids. Please take credit and be proud of all your work. Thanks for everything you do and generously sharing your ideas over the internet. I’m sorry for your challenges and I’m hoping life gets better for you (and your sweet family) very soon! Sincerely, Sandy
