Anyone who has eaten my ribs at barbecues or holidays makes the same comment – “Oh my goodness, these are sooo good. How do you get them so tender?” I usually make some vague comment about “oh, you know, practice …”
But today, I’m going to tell you the truth about how easy it can be to make ribs. My ribs recipe is shockingly easy. I know it’s trendy right now to smoke them and no doubt that is also delicious. Just don’t know my easy ribs until you try them. I adapted the way I saw my dad make ribs and they turn out perfect every time, no matter what kind of ribs we use. There are only 2 ingredients.
Two Finishing Options!
When I’m making the ribs by myself, maybe for my husband’s birthday or Father’s day, and I specifically don’t wan to ask my husband to help, I will just finish the ribs in the oven (see recipe).
When we’re having ribs on a holiday or just for fun, my husband does the grilling part to finish after I get the ribs ready. I know women grill too, lol, it is just not my thing! The oven works well and there’s not a huge difference in my opinion!
{If you don’t have a good pair of kitchen scissors to cut the ribs apart, these are a great option!}
Easy Ribs
Ingredients
- Rack of Ribs
- 2+ cups BBQ sauce (your favorite)
Instructions
- Open up your package of ribs and use kitchen scissors to cut between the bones and divide the rack into individual ribs.
- Place the ribs in the bottom of a big stock pot and cover with cool to warm water. Turn burner to medium-high heat.
- Keep on eye on the pot: as soon as the water boils, turn the heat off and let sit in the hot water for 5-10 minutes.
- Using tongs, remove all the ribs from the water into a large baking dish or jelly roll pan.
- Use a sauce brush and rub barbecue sauce over all the ribs. Be generous with the sauce.
- Now you cook the flavor into the meat, pick one of these two ways –
- Option for Baking: Keep the ribs separated in a large baking dish or jelly roll pan. Bake at 375 F for 15-20 minutes.
- Option for Grilling: Heat the grill to 350 F (high heat) and grill the ribs for ~10 minutes, until there are grill marks. Keep an eye on it, so you don't overcook!
- Enjoy!
Do the men in your life love ribs? Do YOU love ribs?! Everyone in this house loves ribs but because they’re usually expensive, they’re a special occasion treat. But, sometimes we want an easy recipe for special occasions too!
I hope you enjoy this recipe!
