Anyone who has eaten my ribs at barbecues or holidays makes the same comment – “Oh my goodness, these are sooo good. How do you get them so tender?” Um, I make some vague comment about “oh, you know, practice …”
I have a secret to tell you. My ribs recipe is shockingly easy. I adapted the way I saw my dad make ribs and they turn out perfect every time, no matter what kind of ribs we use. There are 2 ingredients.
Because I love my readers, I’m going to share this easy recipe for really good ribs. Can we keep the secret between us, though?
{If you don’t have a good pair of kitchen shears to cut the ribs apart, this pair will do well.}
- Rack of Ribs
- 2+ cups Barbecue Sauce (store bought or home made)
- Open up your package of ribs and use kitchen scissors to cut between the bones and divide the rack into individual ribs.
- Place the ribs in the bottom of a big stock pot and cover with cool warm water. Turn burner to medium-high heat.
- Keep on eye on the pot: as soon as the water boils, turn the heat off and let sit in the hot water for 5-10 minutes.
- Using tongs, remove all the ribs from the water into a large baking dish or jelly roll pan.
- Use a sauce brush and rub barbecue sauce over all the ribs. Be generous with the sauce.
- Now you cook the flavor into the meat, pick one of these two ways -
- Option for Baking: Keep the ribs separated in a large baking dish or jelly roll pan. Bake at 375 F for 15-20 minutes.
- Option for Grilling: Heat the grill to 350 F (high heat) and grill the ribs for ~10 minutes, until there are grill marks. Keep an eye on it, so you don't overcook!
- Enjoy!
Do the men in your life love ribs? Do YOU love ribs?!
I hope you enjoy this recipe!
