I have a special treat for you today!! Like you, I admire the blogs of so many awesome organizers and decorators. Christy of 11 Magnolia Lane is my guest on the blog today and she is going to show us her beautiful style. There is so much I love about these pictures. I added coral to my home this Spring as well and I love the ways she found to pop in that color. And the bicycle plate … I actually picked that plate up while I was at Target a few weeks ago and stared at it a few minutes trying to think of how I could use it because I thought it was so perfect!
Grab a glass of lemonade, relax, and enjoy this beautiful glimpse into 11 Magnolia Lane.

Hello, everyone, and a special thanks to Mary for asking me to show you all my home tour. I’m Christy from 11 Magnolia Lane, where I blog with my friend Amy about all things DIY, home decor, and organization.
Because my family moves every 1-3 years (my husband is in the Army), I am constantly sorting, purging, and organizing–if I don’t absolutely love it, then I don’t want to have to unpack it on the other end!! And for the first time in our 20 years of military life, we’re living in on-post housing, which can be a bit of a decorating challenge. All of my DIY efforts have to be temporary and reversible, just like when you’re decorating any rental.
I thought I’d show you how I added a few spring touches to our home, and then link at the end of the post to some of my favorite organization projects.
In our entryway, I added a lime green pillow and–of course–rain boots. Why bother putting them away when they get worn so often at this time of year and they’re so bright and colorful?!

A few colorful Easter eggs and grapevine balls in an apothecary jar with some fresh roses also add a touch of spring.

In our dining room, I tend to use our open shelving for holiday decorating, and spring is no exception. A “Happy Easter” banner from Target adds color to the vanilla-white walls:
I love dried hydrangeas (in a silver thrift store champagne bucket) any time of year, but they’re especially perfect right now:
Instead of a bar cart, I use a mirrored tray to display pretty vintage decanters that were my grandmother’s and a mix of liquor bottles.
Our living room is a mix of neutrals, mostly black and white, and I love the white slipcovers because I can pull them off and wash them. I’ve had them almost 15 years now, and we have two kids and two dogs, so believe me when I tell you that they get washed pretty frequently!
I use throw cushions to change my decor up a bit for the different seasons, and coral was my choice for spring:
The view from the kitchen:
Tulips, blue and white transferware, and vintage styrofoam eggs add color to the kitchen table.
A few more tulips and a pot of lavender brighten up the spot behind my kitchen sink–after all, I spend a lot of time here!
The plate rack gets some spring touches, too:
And the rabbit plates are perfect for Easter:
I know that the powder room isn’t normally a room that gets decorated for spring, but I thought that blue and gray would be fun–and I love the little bicycle plate that I found at Target!
I think we’re ready for spring, don’t you?
Now, here are a few of my favorite organization projects. First, the pantry in our North Carolina house {see it here}:
Next, an armoire repurposed for dress-up clothes for a little princess {see it here}:
And my closet redo in pink and silver–sadly, we moved away from this house (sigh). See that post {here}.
You can see all of our home tours {here}, and my holiday home tour {here} and {here}. Thanks again, Mary, for letting me visit today!

Just beautiful. Love the coral color. Coral Reef is Sherwin Williams color of the year. Thank you for sharing.
I love your study of color right now. SW has the right idea!
