You know I always have a lot to say about laundry. It is a struggle for so many families. In addition to the millions of tips I’ve offered before, today I’m going to share a few more tips that I’ve recently acquired. These things have made laundry way more fun for my kids!
- Folding Magic
- Washcloth Races
It’s always good to keep improving and change things up for the kids to keep it fresh.
Folding Magic
A friend of mine told me about a tool she used with her kids when they were little that helped them fold laundry. Turns out, they still make these tools and there are even more to choose from! Of course, most were for adult-size shirts. I chose this one because it is junior sized and had good reviews.
My girls have been using it successfully for a few months, so I decided to see if my 4 year old could do it too. I made this video a few weeks ago and am happy to tell you that he has been helping fold his shirts ever since!
My 10 year old teaching my 4 year old how to fold a shirt …
Isn’t that just the cutest! And if it is that easy for 4 year olds, imagine how the 10 and 12 year olds zip through folding their clothes now!!! It is awesome!
Washcloth Races
Another fun addition to our laundry routine are races. I put a pile of towels or washcloths on the counter and gather kids for a race.
In this video I asked my 12 year olds are going slower to let my 4 year old keep their pace. They are such sweet big sisters.

Keep Things Fresh
If your family is in a rut with laundry, try switching things around. Switch laundry days, Rotate and let kids be in charge of someone else’s laundry instead of their own, use a special tool to make folding fun, or go ahead and make it a race … whatever it takes!!
