My Top Pics: Organizing & Cleaning Products for 2018

Here’s my list of Organizing and Cleaning Products I think can help you this year. You’ll recognize a lot of these things, because some are classics that have been around a while. Sometimes the best solution is the one that is simple, tried and true. There could be a surprise or two, though. šŸ˜‰

Organizing

My favorite organizing things are versatile – they’ll work in lots of different places and in lots of different ways. Versatile things get used for longer, because there are so many options to re-arrange them and use them in new ways.

Labels

I love traditional chalkboard labels, BUT, one of my new favorite things is Scotch Chalkboard Tape. I like the tape for labeling large plastic bins, like the ones where I keep Christmas decorating supplies or seasonal decorating stuff in my garage. And, you can like the chalkboard look without wanting something temporary that can wipe off, which is why I often use Metallic permanent markers on chalkboard labels.

Glass Kitchen Storage Containers

More than 5 years ago, I decluttered all of my junky plastic containers and replaced them with Glass Storage Containers. I’ve never missed them, ever. I love that I can put the glass ones in the oven to re-heat and they stack so well in the fridge or in the cabinet. (I store them put together, because it makes them easier to use and stay organized!)

Wire Shelves

I use wire shelves to add cheap, easy, and STURDY storage space to closets and garages. They aren’t the prettiest shelves, so I don’t feature them openly in rooms, but they are behind-the-scenes pros. They can hold a lot of weight and don’t collect a ton of dust.

Woven Plastic Baskets

Seriously versatile. Woven baskets are used in every single room in my house to keep things organized. I use them on kitchen shelves, pantry shelves, inside drawers, on bathroom counters, closets, in my entertainment center, in my craft room, bedrooms … everywhere. If I had to choose only one organizing tool to use for the rest of my life, I’d choose woven baskets.

Craft & Sewing Tote

I especially love the clear acrylic option, because it is so classic. You could use this to organize bathroom items, makeup, utensils at a party, kids crayons and markers, and of course, craft and sewing items too.

Clear Storage Bins

Speaking of Classic, clear storage bins will never go out of style. While you shouldn’t hoard these “in case,” they definitely come in handy when you need them. I use them to store things away at the tops of closets, Christmas decorations, other seasonal decorations, my Grandma bins (where I store my kids’ favorite toys I’ll use one day for grandchildren), and whatever else strikes my fancy. This bin is weather-tight, so you can even keep outdoor toys in it on the back porch.

Fast-Track

I try my best to keep up on garage organizing tools (well, all organizing tools really), and I have yet to see something I love more for organizing garages. Some things become classic for a reason. They’re well thought out and they stand the test of time.

Life Simplification Tools

Organizing makes day to do life simpler and easier, but a few tools stand out to me that could make a huge difference in your year-to-come.

Instant Pot

My estimate is that if you don’t own an Instant Pot yet, you probably will by the end of the year. They are a growing trend for a reason. I’ve used mine every day for the last 5 days straight. Tonight was baked potatoes cooked in 25 minutes, which is one of the easiest and most satisfying meals ever. I actually worked on this blog post while it baked – so easy. (Tip:Ā I cook bacon ahead of time, cut it into small pieces and keep in my freezer until I need it.)Ā

Planner

Keeping track of the important things all in one place is a big stress reducer. Your brain no longer needs to keep track of every little detail, because the planner can do that. If you haven’t purchased one of my Home Management Planners yet, do it now!!!

Cleaning

Best Vacuum Ever

I love my Dyson v6Ā stick vacuum so much that I want to adopt its brother Dyson v8 too. Know the feeling?? It can do anything, all the normal vacuuming done really well, plus it will shrink up to be a small hand vacuum for my car, or become much bigger to reach cobwebs on tall ceilings.

  • Dyson v8 Absolute Stick Vacuum

Bona Hard Floor Cleaning System

My house has a lot of hardwood flooring. My floors feel so clean and shiny after I use the Bona mop on them. It is nice not having to over think “is this really safe for my wood floor?” Because Bona is created just for hardwood floors and has been used for years and years, with still raving reviews.

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Bath Scrubber

I’ve only been using this for about 6 months, but I’m impressed with how it removes soap scum from my shower doors. Much easier than trying to figure out how to use a powder of some sort, when you need a little grit for scum on glass doors.

  • Magic Eraser for bathrooms

Fresh Microfiber Cloths

Good Microfiber cloths are an essential. If your cleaning rags are old and disgusting, treat yourself to a new set! My favorite cleaning cloths come from Grove. They’re thicker and just feel better than some cheap ones I was using. A FREE microfiber cloth comes with the special below …

Special Offer from Grove

I’ve been a Grove monthly subscriber for over a year now. There is no commitment when signing up, you can skip an order or change the date of an order anytime. (I’m constantly surprised by the good quality at such good prices.)

First things first, you should grab this free Toxin Free Set with yourĀ first order of $20:

Mary
