This is the same challenge as originally posted on May 16, 2016. I will be literally PACKING my garage this week and getting ready to live in temporary housing for 4-5 months while our house is built. I think if you want to get your garage organized, this is still a great challenge to do for inspiration! Good luck!
It’s May!! May is one of my favorite months – spring has truly settled in and the weather is divine here in Arkansas. Plus, the kids get out school, and life become a little more free. We plant the vegetable garden and my flowers are blooming beautifully, strawberries are ripening daily in our patch and the kids PICK-RINSE-EAT-REPEAT strawberries all afternoon. We eat outside almost every night on our back porch. And … there is a three day weekend at the end of the month even! Yes, May is pretty awesome.
And in all of the awesomeness of May, the Garage sees a lot of traffic. Like, a lot of traffic. An organized garage makes all of that traffic flow smoothly, you find things easier and things get put away easier. Before you buy another pair of garden gloves, let’s clean out the garage and find the pair you already own!

Hi Mary,
Just looking through the garage posts & wondering how you keep things clean. Mine is always dirty from what the cars bring in & bugs/spider webs. I hate the thought of cleaning the garage weekly like the house.
Mary says
I do not clean my garage weekly, though my kids have the chore to sweep it weekly. They, of course, do not do it very well or thoroughly and go around cars if they are parked inside, but it makes a difference than not doing it at all. I give it a quick spruce up about 2-3 times per year. Of course, I cleaned my garage before I took pictures of it because I have my pride, lol. It is normal to find some dust and grime in your garage. If you keep it pretty straightened up and clutter-free, the dust and grime isn’t so bad.
