Welcome to the Spring Cleaning Challenge! I hope you’re as excited as I am about getting your home deep cleaned. This challenge will last 6 weeks. The first 5 weeks are all about getting things deep cleaned, and then in that last week we’ll practice starting our cleaning and laundry routines. By the end of these 6 weeks, you should feel so good in your home and ready for the ease of “maintenance mode.”
This is Week 1 and this week we will start at the top. We start our cleaning at the top of the rooms for one simple reason – gravity. When we dust, we loosen dust and debris into the air and it falls down. So when we start cleaning at the top, we’ll know things are very clean by the time we get to the bottom!
I hope you’ll consider purchasing the Spring Cleaning Printable Pack. It isn’t necessary, as I’ll give you the tasks at the beginning of each week, but if you’re a planner like me, you might enjoy having all the challenge materials in one place! This easy to read schedule printable below comes in the Bundle, as well as room cleaning checklists, which will come in handy during the other weeks. Whether you purchase or not, I hope you’ll stick around and get your home clean!

Alright alright alright … time to talk about this week’s assignments!
Week 1: Start at the Top
- Monday – Clean light fixtures
- Tuesday – Clean ceiling fans
- Wednesday – Check & change lightbulbs
- Thursday – Clean walls
- Friday – Clean light switches & outlets
- Saturday – Complete unfinished tasks from the week
Remember, it is not “cheating” to ask for help. Get your family involved or even hire help. There’s not a rule that you have to do everything yourself! After my concussion, my husband prefers that I don’t climb ladders alone (I still get dizzy), so I’ll be enlisting help this week for sure.
The 6-Week Plan
To give you an idea of what to expect from here on out, here’s the general plan for the next 6 weeks.

Good luck with your cleaning this week! Let me know how it goes.
From my home to yours,
Mary
