Welcome to Part 1 of the Spring Clean Challenge! Part 1 is the first 3 weeks, as we pick and choose different areas to either declutter, tidy, organize, or clean. (Learn more about the challenge.)
For Part 1, we will follow the calendar for Days 1 – 21 …
I think we should take Sunday off, because with any challenge, we don’t want to burnout. You need a day to take a break mentally and physically. Learning to take a break during break-time and work during work-time is an important life skill that I am ALWAYS trying to teach my kids!! Anyone else?! Maybe if I show by example it will sink in by the time they’re adults. In my opinion, taking a day off of housework just makes sense all around and I don’t want to push those limits for our Spring Cleaning Challenge.
Spring Cleaning Part 1: Days 1-21
If the assignment is a link, it means I’ve written a blog post to help!
- Kitchen Drawers & Cabinets
- Microwave & Oven
- Medicine Cabinet
- Light Fixtures
- Beauty Supplies

- Washing Machine, Dryer, Dryer Vent
- Books, Movies, & Music
- Air Vents & Air Returns
- Bags & Purses
- Carpet Cleaning
And in case you need more help, I came up with a list of my Must Have Cleaners. I also shared the list of Reader-Voted Favorite Vacuums, and picking a vacuum with good attachments will definitely help with Day #14!
Don’t do this alone!
I think this goes without saying, but I should say it anyway: don’t Spring Clean alone, even if you live alone. Get your family and friends involved – you help them, they help you!
My kids are heavily involved in the Spring Cleaning Here. I actually use some of the pages in the Spring Cleaning Pack to help them help me. It is a beautiful system, not perfect, but so much better than doing it all myself.
