I threw a huge birthday party for everyone at a family reunion last summer. The party never made it onto the blog, but it was a huge effort to celebrate the birthdays of 37 people. We sang happy birthday to everyone, ate dinner and birthday cake, played party games, and gave gift bags to everyone. The party was a big success – I *think* everyone had a good time!
For the gift bags of the younger kids, I included foam airplanes. Or well, the little kits to put one together. They’re pretty cool – both the boys and girls at the party had fun with them. And conveniently, I had enough leftover to create Valentines for my little guy’s class at preschool.
(On a side note, my baby boy just turned 5 and I’m having a hard time facing that he is going to kindergarten in the fall! Seriously, he tells me that I’m his “favorite love-y”! Be still my heart.)
I bought a package of 48 airplanes on Amazon, but I noticed this pack of 24 is a better deal if I were buying the airplanes now.
I created some tags, had Brian fill them out, and then tied them onto the airplane baggies with baker’s twine.
I was distracted a few minutes while he started to write his name, so he did it in the wrong spot at the beginning. When I showed him the right spot, he wanted to go back and cover all his mistakes with post-it notes. He keeps me laughing.

My older girls won’t let me make their Valentines. I guess it isn’t cool when you hit a certain age. They just want to buy candy for their friends! I better get all of this out of my system while I still have a baby boy to enjoy it. I know it is cliche, but time really does go so fast when you have kids. It was fun making these with my little man and I hope you enjoy using them too!
