As you’re getting ready to dive into the Love Your Home Challenge, consider adding clean your couch to your project list. It is amazing how a good clean can make such a difference.
In truth, we were washing this couch/sectional to get ready to sell it. I sold it on Facebook Marketplace and used the money to help pay for the new couch. This sectional fit our old home perfectly, but it wasn’t working well here. Cleaning something before you sell it helps get top dollar for your items. I may skip it on smaller items, but cleaning pays itself back in spades for bigger items.
I used the same machine that I use for carpet cleaning to clean the couch. Well, *I* didn’t, Matt did. Thanks, Matt!
Check that your fabric is okay for the machine (the manual tells you what fabric types are okay), then use the handheld wand to easily clean the whole couch.
Tools:
This is the carpet & upholstery cleaner that I’ve been using for over 6 years. (Of course, the newest edition may not match mine exactly, because mine is 6 years old!)
Recipe:
I use 1 Tablespoon of Basic H2 with 8 oz. of water to go into the soap container.
Result:
Worked like a charm! The couch sold and was picked up on the first day I posted. Now the new couch is in it’s place looking good. (I’m sitting on the new one right now.)
Want to give your couches a new lease on life? This is a great way to do it.
From my home to yours,
Mary
