Chances are, there are a million things you want to do in your garage. I hear you! But still, you need to think through the list of what you want to do and then pick a few things to work on now. It’s okay if your garage isn’t perfect at the end of this. There’s a reason I called this Project “Tidy Up Your Garage” instead of “Complete Garage Makeover.” If your garage is better off in two weeks, you are winning.
Small changes in our homes, including in our garage, can help us fall in love with our homes all over again – and that is what the Love Home Challenge is about!
What could you do in your Garage to love it more?

How to Pick Your Project
Make a list of what you’d like to do in your garage. Go ahead and cross off the things that arenāt possible to do right now, like things that are out of your budget or things that just donāt work out timing-wise.
Now, choose 1-3 things that are left that will make the biggest difference. (Only do more than 3 if youāre list has some quick and easy things!) Start with the most important thing in case you only get 1 thing done.
Decluttering May Be What Your Garage Needs Most
Let’s talk for real about the junk in your garage. The garage hasn’t been included in the Declutter Challenge for years, so I’m going to address it a little right now.
I’m guessing your vehicles are some of the most expensive things you own. Can you park your car in your garage to keep it protected? If not, it may be time to care more about your car than the pile of junk in the way!
Decluttering is almost always single-handedly the most impactful thing you can do in your garage. You’ve probably put junk out in your garage and forgotten about it for months or years, so just let it formally leave the property. If you haven’t used or needed something in the last 12 months, just say goodbye.
You will forget about what you get rid of, just like you’ve already left it out there and forgotten about it. BUT, you will appreciate every day being able to park your vehicle in the garage and not look at big piles of junk.
Let’s Do This!
During the next two weeks of the Love Home Challenge, the possibilities of how to make our garages better are endless! If you don’t have a garage, focus on your attic, shed or storage spaces and you’ll be dealing with the same stuff as the rest of us.
Let’s all fall in love with our homes again. The effort is worth it! TELL ME below what you’ll be doing so I can cheer you on!
From my home to yours,
Mary
