The kitchen is the most abused room in my house. There are countless groceries going in, trash and recycling going out. Cabinets and drawers are under a constant rotation of stuff. Counters and appliances get dirty daily with use. The spaces we don’t touch and use regularly get way grosser than places ignored in other areas of the home … like, run your finger on the top of your vent-hood if you dare. Seriously, the kitchen can become a mess if we don’t keep up with it regularly!
The next two weeks are your chance to take control of this room before the chaos of the holidays! Make room in your pantry and cabinets for your holiday items so this year you won’t have to have them stacked on the counter. Can you just imagine that?!
You may already be full of inspiration, but just in case you need ideas, here’s a few ideas. In no particular order …

Now choose what you’ll do!
Don’t try to do it all. Make a list of the most meaningful things you can do in the kitchen. Go ahead and cross off the things that aren’t possible to do right now, like things that are out of your budget or things that just don’t work out timing-wise.
Now, choose 1-3 things that are left that will make the biggest difference. (Only do more than 3 if you’re list has some quick and easy things!) Start with the most important thing in case you only get 1 thing done.
And as always, please tell me in the comments what you plan to do in your kitchen. I love cheering you on!
From my home to yours,
Mary

After looking at your list of suggestions, here are my plans:
The main thing: catch up to my dirty dishes, which will result in a cleared-off counter.
Clean the oven.
Start to organize my spice cupboard. (I may be looking for helpful suggestions when I get into this one!)
And one smaller thing – new hinges for a couple of cupboard doors that keep swinging open and driving me crazy!
These are great! You can definitely get this done!
I clean the dishwasher 2x/ year (and have it scheduled in my calendar!) and cleaning the fridge is done regularly on a monthly basis. So these two items I consider regular routine.
But cleaning the stove and the front of the cabinets – oh my! So these are the two items I’ll be working on during this part of the challenge.
That’s great. I clean my fridge every week, but my dishwasher not often enough. I’m glad you found something to work on that will make your kitchen feel good to you! Sounds like it is already pretty clean, but you’ll be able to feel a difference and that’s what matters. We want to FEEL good in our homes!
Ok the very first things to see to in my kitchen…(once the outside work is done)….is clean the fridge! And clean out the utensil drawers…there are some strange things in there…lol. These will make a world of difference! To start.
It’s funny the things we find in our kitchen drawers when we clean them out! Good luck!
