It may surprise you to know that I still make all the planners in my shop, that I don’t outsource printing or mass-produce. Or maybe that doesn’t surprise you because it is obvious that I am a small business.
I have my reasons for continuing to make the planners myself. A big reason I do it myself is that I can guarantee the quality I want to provide. Like, the paper I use – it really is the best. I am sensitive to texture, so how I paper feels is so important to me!
Another big reason is that I still enjoy creating the planners myself. And while I enjoy it, I’m going to keep doing it. I love creating things with my hands. I love the cathartic, artistic feeling fulfilled with each and every planner I make.
Here’s a little video to show you where this creative and artistic fun happens —
I know most people start businesses so they can grow them big and make a ton of money, but that has never been my game plan. I left a big career behind to stay home with my kids. My main goal with this business is to help you! And I know that sounds cliche, but I hope you’ll feel my sincerity. I obviously love earning a little extra money to help my family, but that has never been my main purpose.
So, while you may see planners out there with highly produced ads and videos, I’ll keep making my own like this. Though I’m confident my planners would stand up to any comparison, I still understand people have a choice and my planner my not be for everyone. I’m not trying to reach the masses, I’m just trying to reach people like you. I’m trying to reach the people who come to my blog and need my help.
