Banners are one of my favorite ways to add a little holiday life to my mantel. I like to add holiday touches in simple ways. This banner was super super super simple to make.
Materials:
- White Felt (from Hobby Lobby)
- Navy-Floral Felt (from Hobby Lobby)
- Yarn Needle (from Hobby Lobby)
- Yellow Baker’s Twine (from Amazon)
- White School Glue
- (Scissors, Cardstock Paper & Pencil to create stencil)
Directions:
I drew a pendant shape and an egg shape on cardstock and cut them out to create stencils. I used the stencils and traced the shape onto the felt. Then I cut the felt out and glued together with white school glue. I let the pendants and eggs dry for a little while, then I used the yarn needle and baker’s twine to push the string through the pendants to connect it all.
HOUSE STAGING Sadness … Sadly, even though it is not Easter yet, I already took down my Easter mantel when we staged our home to sell (just went officially on the market today). We had already removed the picture above the mantel when the painters re-painted the shiplap, and now my “staged” mantel just has that vase of flowers. I did enjoy a little taste of Easter while this was up, and I’ll definitely re-use it wherever we move.
This was one of those easy craft projects that you can do while binging on Netflix. I think making stuff like this is so relaxing and renewing, because I get to take my mind off of real life and just create something.
Do you decorate for every holiday? Do you use banners in your decorating?
From my home to yours,
